Started Editing- Production Blog
Welcome back to my blog Camination!!!
In this blog, I will be updating you guys on our editing process. The process of combining all of our clips into one music video began today. We recently finished filming the video last week, as you may have seen from the earlier updates, so we are now beginning to focus on the actual work. The way our video is edited can make or break its final product, and it must accurately tell the story we played out. Using the storyboard as a guide, we demonstrated how the food that each of us brought to the picnic told a tale of friendship and action. If we were going to serve so much food, we reasoned, why not make the video more lively even if we couldn't finish it all?
We're going to use CapCut for editing. We selected this platform based on our prior experience using it for an AICE Media Studies project. So far, we have only created our timeline sequence using our clips. It was crucial to get the footage in sequence because we filmed some of them out of chronological order. Because it was difficult to take some of the photos seriously at first, several were filmed out of order. In order to avoid becoming caked in food for the final group images, we shot all of them shortly before the cake scenes.
Since Katherine's phone had the greatest camera quality among us all, the shots were recorded with it. Unfortunately, some of my group's cameras were also malfunctioning, so we had to record using her phone instead. As previously mentioned, we were unable to obtain a majority of the shots on our first attempt, therefore we took a lot of shots. Either the wind was not cooperating, someone was laughing, or something uncontrollable was going to happen. People would frequently stroll into our photographs because we were in a public place, and we had no choice but to retake them. The reason it took us so long to film was mostly due to this. It took more than three hours, longer than we had anticipated. From that point on, Katherine provided Lyne with the correct shots as well as those that she had to exclude in order to meet our deadline.
Since Lyne has the greatest editing skills, she will be utilizing Caput to edit the most, of course with assistance from the rest of the group. In addition, Aryanna and I will assist with the music video's lighting and overlays. Thank you for being with us along this process!!! I hope you guys enjoy the end result.
