Editing- Production Blog

Welcome back to my blog Camination!!!

After all these blogs we've finally reached the final production blog. In this last blog, we will discuss the continuation of the editing.

As I've said before Lyne is in charge of the majority of the editing. However, the rest of the group is also pitching in ideas. We began picking out the perfect scenes for the video to make sure we all agreed on what was going to be in the final shot. Communication is key when editing a music video, so it is very important that we all collaborate as a team.

We have to make sure that we consider the rhythm and mood of the song when choosing shots and transitions. To enhance the visual impact of the video we are thinking of using effects and color grading (a process of editing film to make the video feel more vibrant.) At the end of the editing process, we will go back and "color grade" the video to create a consistent look and feel.

We all agreed that we would use common editing techniques like jump cuts, transitions, match cuts, etc. This is to make the video flow better and look appealing.

Lyne is making sure that the video is in sync with the music so that the visuals and audio work together to create a cohesive experience. I mentioned that we have to pay attention to the pacing to ensure that the video is not too slow or too fast.

However, we are new to editing music videos so we are open to a bunch of ideas with different techniques and transitions to ensure we have the best for our video. Before submitting I would like to share it with a few of my friends to get feedback and see if we could improve anything else. Even if this is an important assignment we've all decided that we won't get stressed out, instead we will enjoy every second of the process together.

Finally, after we are all happy with the results the video will be exported in the format needed for the class. Although editing a music video can be a tedious job I know it will be a rewarding process.

Thank you for being with me and my group throughout this entire process! The music video is something special to us and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I know we would.
