Production Blog: Filming

 Welcome back to my blog camination!! This blog is a continuation of me and Katherine's filming process.

On February 14th, 2024 we recorded all the scenes in which Santiago was part of since it was the only day we could see him. Five days later we got together again to record all of the missing scenes. 

We wanted to start with the scenes of the ingredients so we could actually end up making a cake. For this we only had one shot so we made sure everything went perfectly. It was kind of a nerve wracking moment because we couldn't afford to mess up since we only had one cake mix. However, we managed to get every shot perfectly and enjoyed the process of mixing the ingredients. 

After this we had to shoot the scenes of us at the kitchen together and the scenes of only the two of us. Once again my sister helped us out with these scenes since none of us were behind the camera. 

Some of the scenes took us longer than expected because we kept laughing. We really had to focus to get our scenes perfectly without them looking awkward. 

This filming process has been really enjoyable and I am excited to edit our film to make it the way we envisioned it. We made sure to get all the angles and shots required therefore there were some scenes that we had to slightly change. 

I am glad that Katherine and I worked together on this film because we were able work together for the first time in a long time. We both helped set up the setting just how we wanted and we both pitched in ideas to improve our film. Overall the two days we spent on filming were effective and enjoyable. 

Now the next step of our project would be to begin the editing process. For this Katherine and I are going to have to work closer because we want to make sure we both like the end result and both our ideas are used.
