Production Blog: Editing
Hi guys! Welcome back to my blog!!
Today will mark the last modifications to our movie and the beginning of our music. I apologize for continually delaying the completion of this task; obtaining permission for particular soundtracks can be somewhat of an issue. We reviewed our movie as a whole today, making decisions about where to include certain sound effects, whether to reshoot, and whether to add special effects altogether. We also selected where the sound effects should be placed and concluded that a few of our long and close-up shots needed to be redone.
We chose to retake the shots that did not include Santiago, the young boy we were babysitting.
This is due to the fact that we do not always have the privilege of seeing him. However, we concluded that every shot, even his, was good. The kitchen was where we generally needed more reshoots. In particular, a couple of close-ups of Katherine and I baking and a long shot of us in the kitchen.
Even though it might seem tedious to take fresh shots of us baking, we made sure to leave certain supplies out and not put them away. The fact that the clips we had to remake in any case did not feature food in its entirety also facilitated the procedure. The video clips showed a knife being cut at various angles. We just decided that we wanted several shots of the chopping to accomplish the impression we were going for. We decided where sound effects were needed after reshooting these shots.
We decided that loud kitchen noises and sharp sounds would be ideal for the knife chopping. It may appear more realistic in that way. There will also be added background television sounds and crayon drawing sounds. We still have a few tasks to complete! Thank you for being a part of this project, and I hope you enjoy it!
